ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION (ADR) program

The Augusta Judicial Circuit ADR Program oversees cases referred to mediation by Order of the assigned Judge, by recommendation of the program director, or at the request of the parties and/or their attorney. Trained, registered mediators contract with the program to conduct the mediation sessions.

How do i select a mediator?

The parties mutually agree upon a mediator from the list of approved mediators. Once a mediator is selected, the parties should contact the mediator directly to schedule the mediation.

what if i am unable to afford the cost of mediation?

Mediation fees may be waived in certain circumstances depending on your income. Any party claiming inability to pay mediation costs must complete a Mediation Fee Waiver Application and return it to the ADR Program director at least 3 working days prior to a scheduled mediation session. Your request must be approved by the Judge assigned to your case before the fee is waived.
